Technical Support Specialist

Location:          12325 Port Grace Blvd, La Vista, NE 68128


We are seeking a Technical Support Specialist at Securities America, Inc. (SAI), a member of Advisor Group, in our LaVista, NE (Omaha, NE) location.  The primary responsibility of this job is to answer questions from Company representatives and employees regarding technology, systems, and applications.  Additional duties include troubleshooting technical issues, configuring PCs, and downloading data from clearing firms and mutual fund companies.


  • Answer questions from Company representatives pertaining to a multitude of technology related issues regarding SA systems and applications.  Research issues as necessary and ensure prompt response.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for Company representatives and employees. 
  • Receive help requests via telephone and email, assess problems, resolve (Level I and II support) or escalate to appropriate IS resources.
  • Configure PCs for employees ensuring access only to appropriate applications and screens.
  • Provide advice to Company representatives on necessary office technology needed to work with SAI
  • Maintain and support of all SA Applications and assist with training on applications to internal and external clients as needed.
  • All other duties as assigned

Education Requirements:

  • Associate degree in computer science is preferred, high school diploma (or equivalent) in combination with significant experience will be considered in lieu of degree.  Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent is required. 

Basic Requirements:

  • 1-2 years previous technology support experience required
  • Proven skill in troubleshooting and problem resolution in a Windows desktop environment
  • Familiarity with mobile device support i.e. iPhone, iPad, Android
  • Ability to communicate with customers, co-workers, and various business contacts in a courteous and professional manner
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and handle multiple tasks
  • Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve computer software and network problems
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work flexible schedule
  • Ability to be at work on a regular and predictable basis
  • Knowledge of technology, systems, and applications
  • Knowledge of computer operations, hardware, and software
  • Skill in effective verbal and written communications
  • Skill in utilizing various software packages such as Microsoft Office

Preferred Requirements:

  • Support experience with Mac OS is a plus
  • Prior Broker/Dealer experience in a support role is a plus
