SVP, Business Development – FSC Securities

We are looking for a self-motivated, highly driven and energetic person to lead our business development (“BDM”) efforts within FSC.   With a regional staff of three reporting to the position – the person will lead our efforts in helping FSC advisors grow their practices by fully leveraging the capabilities of FSC and its parent, Advisor Group.   The SVP will oversee the development of business plans for the group to assist FSC in meeting its goals as to: net new assets, advisor retention, same store sales and recruiting (in partnership with our Advisor Acquisition group).   The role will involve training and developing the BDM team to engage and support large, sophisticated wealth management practices.   Leadership / management skills are critical to establish a best-in-class BDM capability.  The SVP will partner and jointly create / manage initiatives with AG Marketing and National Sales to drive enhanced support and services to FSC advisors.   Experience / success with sales reporting, budgeting and training are important aspects of a successful candidate.

In addition to managing the BDM team – the SVP will directly support a region of FSC advisors.  In this role, the SVP will travel and meet with advisors looking to grow their practices.  In developing business plans with key advisors, the SVP will identify, coordinate and monitor advisors’ progress.   The SVP will work to build stronger and deeper relationships with OSJ Managers and the advisors in the region.  Success will be measured by meeting or exceeding company goals relating to growth and profitability.

  • Lead team of business development managers
  • Create business plans across regions and OSJs to drive net new assets, same store sales, and retention of existing advisors
  • Create / administer business reports necessary for effective management and assessment of the BDM function
  • Partner with shared services groups at AG (National Sales, Marketing, etc.) to leverage opportunities to deliver best practices designed to grow advisors businesses.
  • Lead OSJ Managers and Representatives that have the desire to adopt new strategies, products and services to grow their revenue and provide actionable concepts to support their growth.
  • Promote and support educational meetings and opportunities provided by AG and our strategic partners.
  • Provide continuous communication (in partnership with AG partners) with OSJ Managers and Representatives on product offerings, sales concepts, practice management, office efficiencies and resource availability through face to face meetings, conference/telephone calls and regional meetings.
  • Promote and support holistic Financial Planning and Wealth Management concepts and platforms.
  • Assist recruiting in onboarding and continuous consultation of new Representatives during and after the transition.
  • Assist OSJ Managers and Representatives in resolving business problems/issues, managing change and navigating through the various systems and processes of the broker/dealer.
  • All other duties as assigned

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree is required. 

Basic Requirements:

  • 10+ years’ experience in the financial services industry
  • Sales management experience, education and training
  • Strong customer service, communication and presentation skills. 
  • History / proficiency with investment advisory and financial planning tools and techniques
  • Must be highly motivated and possess analytical skills. 
  • Proficient time management and personal organization a must.   
  • Collaborative and team oriented
  • Strong work ethic with high integrity quotient

Preferred Requirements:

  • FINRA Series 7, 24 and 65; 63 and 66 licenses preferred.
  • Life and Annuity Insurance Licenses preferred.
