Senior Procurement Contract Manager

The Sr Procurement Contract Manager is a professional position responsible for managing and negotiating commercial agreements (to include MSA, NDA, Amendments, SOW, etc.) to support all company lines of business, maintaining and organizing commercial agreements, and recommending and implementing improvements to the contract process where appropriate. This role is also responsible for drafting, negotiating and managing contractual documentation and providing oversight and guidance to business leaders on the company’s contracting procedures and policies.  The Sr Manager role will supervise, coach and mentor several direct reports, advocating all department functions. 

This position is located in Phoenix and reports to the Director of Procurement & Contracts, within the Finance Organization.


  • Review various commercial agreements and negotiate such agreements with company's suppliers and contractors, to ensure they maximize value for the company and reflect company policies and best practices.
  • Work with various internal departments to gather necessary information in order to thoroughly complete supplier/contractor agreements.
  • Works in a high-paced environment and multi-tasks many contracts in various stages of negotiation.
  • This position serves as the first point of contact for all internal departments, customers and partners in response to contract questions/matters.
  • Track and manage contracts database for company-wide agreements
  • Gain a solid understanding of Advisor Group’s business to be able to effectively perform the responsibilities
  • Identification, assessment and management of risk-related areas in the contract negotiation and vendor relationship, to include supporting rigorous and effective risk management processes.
  • All other duties as assigned

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or other related field is required.        

Basic Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in corporate, procurement, or law firm setting, with at least 7 or more years of experience reviewing and negotiating both the commercial and legal terms of contracts.  At least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role
  • Knowledge of terms and conditions in commercial contracts; familiarity with commercial contract law and principles; skilled at reviewing terms & conditions and identifying risk areas
  • Advanced writing skills in drafting contracts and contract correspondence
  • Best-in-class negotiation skills gained through relevant prior work experience
  • Assertive and strong interpersonal skills to effectively interact with suppliers/contractors and business associates to include all levels of senior management; able to persuasively negotiate with suppliers/contractors while remaining positive and professional
  • Ability to prioritize, manage various matters concurrently, work efficiently, and meet short deadlines in a fast paced, challenging environment
  • Ability to learn quickly, problem solve and make persuasive arguments
  • Ability to maintain high standards of service and satisfaction

Preferred Requirements:

  • Degree in in Paralegal Studies from an ABA certified paralegal program or Paralegal Certificate is preferred.
