Senior Financial Reporting Accountant
Preferred Location: Phoenix, AZ

Summary:
The Senior Financial Reporting Accountant is a key member of Osaic’s external reporting team who will play a significant role in the preparation of financial statements for regulatory and internal reporting purposes. We are looking for someone with a strong background in financial reporting and understanding of US GAAP and SEC regulations who is a great collaborator and is passionate about delivering quality results and driving continuous improvement in a dynamic, high-growth environment.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements for Osaic, including footnote disclosures, management’s discussion and analysis, and all other components of the filings
- Prepare annual financial statements for each of Osaic’s broker-dealer subsidiaries, including footnote disclosures and all other components of the filings
- Understand the balance sheet, P&L and cash flow impacts of account activity, including classifications of financial statement line items
- Interact, communicate and maintain relationships with other functional departments to ensure the quality, accuracy and completeness of the financial statements and footnote disclosures
- Prepare SEC and US GAAP disclosure checklists in conjunction with quarterly and annual report filings
- Research SEC and US GAAP accounting guidance and other regulatory requirements, including performing peer research for various disclosures as necessary
- Assist in implementation and maintenance of internal controls around financial reporting
- Interface with external auditors as needed
- Assist in continuous improvement initiatives related to financial reporting, including the implementation of new or expanding the usage of certain existing financial reporting tools and other improvement initiatives
- Assist in various projects as assigned, including business acquisitions and other actual or proposed transactions
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university in Accounting is required
- CPA designation preferred
Basic Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in public accounting and/or private industry with SEC reporting and technical US GAAP research and analysis
- Solid knowledge of financial statements and accounting principles required
- Strong attention to detail
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Highly motivated with demonstrated experience managing multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment
- Self-starter who will anticipate challenges and work proactively to resolve issues
- Comfortable working within an entrepreneurial, “roll-up your sleeves” environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills to work effectively with associates at all levels
- Team player with a customer service mentality
- Demonstrates credibility and a willingness to do things the right way
Preferred Requirements:
- Audit-related experience in a publicly traded environment
- Experience working with Workiva Wdesk and Workday Financials
- Prior financial services industry experience preferred (wealth management, investment management, broker-dealer, insurance, banking, specialty finance)
