Salary: $85,000 - $105,000 per year + annual bonus

Summary:
The Senior Accountant is primarily responsible for supporting Osaic’s Accounting function, which broadly encompasses financial reporting and analysis, monthly close process, a strong understanding of US GAAP, and maintaining controls over financial reporting. In this capacity, they will lead various accounting efforts within the group while developing and managing relationships with key leaders / stakeholders within different business units.
Responsibilities:
- Integral in the month-end close process
- Reviews and/or prepares account reconciliations, monthly journal entries, and other control processes as assigned
- Performs and leads audit efforts as part of monthly, quarterly, and yearly audit and review requirements
- Research accounting policies/regulatory rules around new products and/or business initiatives
- Assesses the accounting impact of various business initiatives through a detailed understanding of revenue and cost drivers
- Monitors performance of various business results (including variance analyses)
- Maintains and improves the controls around financial reporting
- Assists with the implementation of new tools and systems
- Helps to improve current accounting processes through process improvement and/or automation
- Develops and maintains excellent relationships with colleagues across business departments to foster an effective cross-functional working environment and collaborative spirit
- Mentor, train, and develop junior team members
- All other duties as assigned
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university in accounting required (3.2 minimum GPA, Master’s Degree in Accounting preferred
- CPA designation preferred
Basic Requirements:
- 3+ busy season(s) in Top 7 Public Accounting or 3 – 6 years in a Large Corporate GL Accounting role (May include internship experience)
- Solid knowledge of financial statements and accounting principles required
- Strong attention to detail
- Advanced proficiency in Excel – must be able to create PIVOTS, VLOOKUP’s, “IF” statements, and other functionalities
- Extremely organized with solid attention to detail and analytical in nature
- Ability to condense large sets of data into usable and easy-to-understand reports
- Ability to implement efficient processes to support the month-end close process
- Experience with general ledger applications
- Highly motivated with demonstrated experience managing multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment
- Self-starter who will anticipate challenges and work proactively to resolve issues
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Requirements:
- General ledger experience: journal entries, account reconciliations, analyzing trends for close monthly reporting
- Prior financial services industry experience
- M&A Accounting experience
