Investment Analyst

We are seeking an Investment Analyst to support Ladenburg Thalmann Asset Management, a member of Advisor Group.  The Investment Analyst is responsible for market analysis of the asset management division which includes due diligence on mutual funds, ETFs, portfolio analysis and research on economic conditions.  The selected Investment Analyst is also responsible for representing the various asset management products both internally and externally.


Economic Market Analysis

  • Participate as part of the Investment Policy Committee by offering options on market movements, portfolio changes and risk management
  • Maintain knowledge on broad market, economic trends, and global issues
  • Analyze prevailing market conditions and their effects on the portfolios
  • Write quarterly market commentary
  • Field financial professionals’ questions regarding ad hoc market analysis 

Sales / Marketing

  • Answer financial professionals’ questions on all trading activity and portfolio rebalancing
  • Assist financial professionals’ in client conference calls, Skype presentations, seminars, and portfolio reviews
  • Assist financial professionals’ in preparing customized portfolio analysis and constructing portfolios for clients
  • Design high net worth portfolios including separate account managers and alternative investments to meet the growing demand for multi-million dollar proposals.


  • Perform a correlation review of all asset classes held in the models to determine the portfolios standard deviation
  • Conduct searches for new ETF and Mutual Funds for LTAM portfolios and LIR Research
  • Ongoing analysis and watch list of existing investment in LAMP program as LIR List
  • Analyze universe of separate account managers and schedule due diligence meetings to determine if they should be added to the ICS platform
  • Use Morningstar and Bloomberg software to analyze each position in each the LAMP portfolios
  • Run portfolio analysis on current accounts and perspective accounts and prepare client-friendly reports.
  • All other duties as assigned

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance from an accredited university is required. 

Basic Requirements:

  • 2-5 years’ experience in a similar capacity
  • FINRA Series 7 and Series 66 (or 63/65) required, may be obtained within 6 months of hire
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills as well as strong organizational skills
  • Dedicated work ethic and competitive drive
  • Willingness to work extended hours to meet project deadlines
  • Solid networking abilities and follow up skills
  • Ability to work independently with little or no direction
  • Must possess excellent computer skills and be proficient using Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
