Assistant Vice President Transition

The primary responsibility for this position is to provide strategic direction for the Transition team for retail, financial institutions, and Arbor Point advisors.  Responsibilities include coaching and mentoring staff on consultative sales techniques and conducting on-site consultation meetings with selected new Representatives and developing a plan for the smooth, efficient transition of business. This position will also work closely with the SVP of Transitions to identify ways to enhance the onboarding experience for new Representatives.

  • Provide strategic direction for the team including providing strategic leadership, hiring, training, goal setting, performance management, organizing work schedules, conducting staff meetings, resolving problems, coaching, and communicating annual department business plan.
  • Coach, develop, and mentor the Transition teams on coordinating the pipeline of Transition representatives, interacting with recruits in various settings such as home office visits, dinners, networking events, etc., and effectively utilizing contact management systems.
  • Conduct on-site consultation meetings with selected new Representatives and develop a plan for the smooth, efficient transition of business.
  • Provide on-going support within the Financial Institutions Division.
  • Participate and provide support with merger and acquisition opportunities.
  • Consult with new Representatives regarding current business model, discuss options and recommend alternative business methods in accordance with our Practice Management tools.
  • Direct the development and implementation of Representative training programs for new Representatives.
  • Provide on-going consultative guidance to new Representatives throughout the transition process ensuring that questions are answered, paperwork is received, and the process continues smoothly and in a timely manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and assist with projects as requested by the Senior Vice President.
  • All other duties as assigned

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or other business-related field preferred, H.S. Diploma or GED certificate + Significant Practical Experience will be considered

Basic Requirements:

  • Five years previous management experience required
  • At least 5+ years of securities related experience
  • At least 2+ years of Transitions experience
  • Ability to conduct training sessions for Representatives and office staff
  • Ability to consult, collaborate, and provide recommendations
  • Ability to plan and implement organizational and department goals
  • Ability to communicate and project a positive, professional attitude with co-workers, customers, and various business contacts in person and over the telephone
  • Ability to develop professional relationships and maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and handle multiple tasks
  • Build strong relationships with other departments (e.g. Recruiting, Licensing & Registration, Marketing, Supervision, etc.)
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
  • Knowledge of the securities industry, terminology, and practices
  • Skill in operating various office equipment and software programs (i.e. Microsoft Office)

Preferred Requirements:

  • Series 7 and 24 preferred
  • Knowledge of SAI & SAA paperwork, procedures, and compliance requirements preferred
